What Did Avalon's Vision Mean?

Avalon's vision was a disturbing one. So much so, it even frightened him. Well he's always been on edge but that's besides the point. What if there's another threat besides Garnok? One that lurks within the icy wastelands of the Valley of The Hidden Dinosaur. This is what we are discussing today. Keep in mind that this is just what I think, so leave your thoughts in the comments, I try and read them all. 

The Kallters left in a hurry when we went to check up on them, but why? As they left through the Icen Gate, a terrible roar split through the chilling air of the Valley. Some may have dismissed it as wind passing through icicles, making it sound like a monster's roar. However, I don't think that's the case. There is something within the icy plain that has baffled scientists and Druids alike for centuries, maybe even before the time of Jon Jarl. There are a few possibilities of what the creature might be; a Yeti, Bigfoot, a Liopleurodon and the Ice Witch. Some of these are up for debate, but I'm guessing its two of the four. 

That's right I'm thinking a Liopleurodon may have survived somehow, and that somehow could be a descendant of the first Ice Witch. Witches don't live forever as some people speculate, but they do pass on their knowledge and skills to their offspring. I do not think the Ice Witch is evil, as Linda has stated there are kind-hearted witches living among us, that want to protect and not destroy. I'm thinking this Ice Witch is quite young, and accidently set the monster free while performing a ritual to keep it incased in it's icy prison. The Ice Witch may have a realm all to herself, only emerging when she need supplies for her craft. That realm is the portal behind the structure that looks like a monster's jaw in Icendell.

The reason it looks the way it does, it to protect anyone in Jorvik from the potential threat. I'm guessing there are powerful enchantments to stop anything from getting in or out, accept the Witch, cast upon this gateway. From the way it sounds, it's likely Pandorian magic, so maybe the Witch is another Pandorian like Ydris, and like her family before her, has fought to protect the humans. However, her ritual went wrong, causing the monster to escape into Dino Valley, and she's in desperate need of help. I don't think the Liopleurodon is your run of the mill dinosaur. I reckon its a creature from Pandoria, but unlike Garnok, it was born in the realm of pink. 

Now escaped, the creature thirsts for destruction. It was once created to protect and alert Pandorians of any cracks that appeared, so they could close them. However, it soon grew tired of it's masters and turned on them. A family stepped forward and imprisoned the creature in rare blue Pandorian crystal, and took it to Dino Valley where they proceeded to encase the creature in ice sealed with ancient runes and spells. The ritual to keep the creature contained would have to be renewed once every one hundred years. The Ice Witches lived in isolation, but befriended the Kallter and told them about the monstrosity they kept imprisoned in Jorvik. The Kallters had seen them cast a sort of looking glass spell so they could see and hear what went on during that fight, as the Witch explained. The Kallter grew fearful of the monster and quite right to, which lead to the construction of the Icen Gate to protect themselves. 

With the ritual being a failure, due to the mistake of the current Ice Witch, the monster the Kallter have feared has broken free, and slipped through the spells of the gateway. Now free, it plans to terrorize all that know of it's existence. It remains to be seen if the new Ice Witch has the power to pull off what her ancestors did many centuries ago in her homeland of Pandoria. 

 

Galloper Thompson

Thompson was a loyal soldier to Jon Jarl. He grew up on Jorvik, presumably in Jarlahiem. No one knows his exact date of birth as some of his history is not recorded, due to him being branded a traitor so all records of him were destroyed. However, I believe Thompson was framed for something he didn't commit.

For Thompson he grew up in a military family. His father being a soldier too. Thompson was expected to enlist in the forces when he was old enough. He worked as a stableboy at Jorvik Stables, cleaning and tending to the horses and that's where he met a Jorvik Wild Horse filly. The filly was timid and didn't trust humans but took a shine to Thompson. This horse would eventually be his war horse, Hell's Fire. The commander of the stables was impressed with Thompson's bonding with the filly and gifted the horse to him. 

On a stormy night and accident befell the Thompson household. His father was killed when he was just seventeen. There had been a fault with one of the canons on the battlements his father was helping to prepare, and the backfire sent his father over the wall and to his death. Thompson was then called to arms.

Training hard and proving himself seemed a daunting task for Galloper, but he had looked up to his father who had been a captain until his untimely death. He fought in all the battles that Jarl's Army was part of, helping claim victory. There was one battle he wouldn't forget easily. When a giant tentacled being rose up from the murky depths of the ocean to try and destroy Jorvik. Thompson fought bravely until that eras Soul Rider Sisterhood helped lock the evil away. An evil we now know as Garnok.

This creature had been set free by someone and by someone I mean Mr Sands. Of course, being the cunning fox he was, Sands pinned the blame on a loyal soldier claiming that Thompson had planned this from the beginning. Thompson was innocent, but he knew Sands had been a trusted informant to the army and his word was taken over his own. So, Thompson fled to The Valley of The Hidden Dinosaur.

He would spend the next few years living in exile. Even though he knew he was innocent, his people thought he had been the one to release Garnok. It wasn't long until he was found and brought back to Jarlahiem. He was found guilty, but Aideen seemed to be watching over him. Before setting his head on the executioners block, he bellowed these words: "This day you have executed the wrong man. I won't rest, instead I will ride free on All Hallows Eve, punishing those who do wrong. For you have condemned an innocent man to death." With that, he placed his head down, looking away from his wife and children. With a swing of the axe, Thompson was beheaded.

True to his word, he stood up. Screams filled the air, and the sound of a demonic neigh drowned them out. Hell's Fire galloped up to her rider, and he mounted up. He snatched a torch from a bystander who fainted in shock. "Consider my presence as an omen of death." Thompson's ghostly voice echoed in the night. He visited his Commanding Officer first, the one who had ordered his execution and took his soul to Galloper's Keep.

Every year during October, Thompson rides to find new victims. However his power is weaker and he is no longer able to take lives but make his victims pass out. He presence is still considered a bad omen. So keep an eye out.

Other Humanoids in Pandoria?

The last quests had me thinking. We now know that Ydris is Pandorian as he tells us it's his home world. We also know that Evergrey had encountered Pandorians like Ydris during his travels, but and I quote "fewer than I would have liked". This made me think that at one point, before Garnok was banished to Pandoria, that human creature once flourished on the beauty of Pandoria. Firstly, we're going to have to go back before the defeat of Garnok, and way before the story of Jorvik even began.

Pandoria was much like earth, but possessed all sorts of unique magic and time wasn't an issue there. That is to say, it never existed. Pandoria is a place were up is down, and reality is unreality. Think of it like Alice in Wonderland but on steroids. The world has floating continents, flying stingrays and creatures that feed off the darkness. Plants and fungi grow to colossal size and crystal grows everywhere. Its like a dream and a nightmare all rolled into one. The people of Pandoria were happy and peaceful, and didn't want to cause any real or lasting damage to its sister planet called earth. They would try and heal any cracks from their world to earth as to keep balance in check. For what spills from one world into another could spell disaster. 

The people of Pandoria had immortal lives. Well immortal compared to those living on earth. As time wasn't a thing neither was aging, and they would stop when they would reach their mid to late 20s. However, they were wise and used their knowledge to help others. This wouldn't last for long.

When Fripp had to lock Garnok away he had to make a choice between destroying earth and making Pandoria a desolate place. Being close friends with Aideen, and seeing what the humans were capable of he chose to imprison Garnok in Pandoria. This infuriated his kind, and thus earned him banishment from Pandoria. A battle raged on Pandoria which would last for years. This war all but wiped out Ydris' race. 

This is why there aren't as many human like creatures seen in Pandoria. Knowing Garnok still lurks in the shadows, they dare not come out of hiding. This is why we do not see them. Evergrey might have seen them, but we do not know if he actually spoke to them or not. They are still recovering from a long battle that left them physically and mentally drained. Ydris seems to think it is earth's fault his home is in ruin, and would rather see Garnok destroy earth as an act of revenge other than doing the right thing, what he was raised to do, and help save another planet from total destruction. 

However, Ydris did give our character the last five leafed clover with enough magic for a wish. So maybe, in his own way, he wants to help and see Garnok defeated. I don't believe Ydris is evil, I just think he's still upset and angry having to watch his people die and suffer while he fled to earth. If you put yourself in his situation, you can understand his frustrations. 

The Dark Riders

The Dark Riders: What Are They?

The Dark Riders are the polar opposite to the Soul Riders. Dark and corrupt, they want nothing more than to cause misery and inflict pain upon anyone they cross. They are Garnok's most trusted individuals and I believe there is more to them. If you carry on reading I will explain all.

As the Keepers of Aideen have the four circles, I believe Garnok has something similar to fight against the Light. The Dark Riders and the Soul Riders are like Yin and Yang, which means even though they fight in different fields they are both needed to keep the world in balance. However, only one side will win in the end. First off I will explain the Four Circles.

The first one is Nightmare. We've all heard Mr Sands refer to Katja as the Nightmare Rider. This Circle can induce a person into a living nightmare. They may think they are trapped in a real nightmare when in reality it's just an illusion to throw their enemy off their game, while they are still in the real world. Due to being able to mental link with people, I believe that the Nightmare Circle is the opposite to the Moon Circle, as we know Linda can make mental links and see visions. 

Secondly, we have Flare. This Circle can travel between worlds as easily as those as the Sun. This name was given to this circle in what the sun dangerously gives off. Solar flares, which can travel through space and harm planets which don't have the correct conditions to protect itself. Jessica is part of this circle, as well as her Dark Horse. Members of this circle can steal souls and place them in Pandoria whenever they wish.

Thirdly, Reaper. This Circle are the warriors for Garnok. They are the opposite of the Lightning Circle, and would rather inflict damage than help others. I'd but Sabine in this circle, due to the fact she happily tore Thomas and Justin apart. Not only do they love inflicting pain on their enemies mentally, but physically as well. Something, Sabine loves to do more than the rest of her fellow Dark Riders.

Lastly, we have Discord. Not much is known about this circle, as Elise is still trapped in Pandoria thanks to the efforts of the Soul Riders. This circle are the opposites for the Star Circle. Instead of helping and healing others, they like to cause disharmony and mayhem to those around them. They love making friends turn against each other, and can even cause a rift between the Dark Riders themselves if gone unchecked. Elise is part of this circle and has yet to be found.

I have a feeling that like Aideen's children, the Dark Riders were made from Garnok's flesh and dark desires. Gross thought, I agree but hear me out. If Aideen's children each inherited power from one specific circle, so did Garnok's Generals. I believe he made these creatures to fight off Aideen's Light and her offspring as well as their descendants, however, they haven't aged or needed to reproduce to keep the line of darkness going. Being a General means immortality, never dying ans never getting particularly old.

Avalon: Who Is He & Which Circle Is He Part Of?

Avalon: Who is this Druid?

I know I said I was covering more of Aideen, but with a character as mysterious as Avalon, I couldn't pass up the chance. Avalon is the Druid who lives in Valedale across the river opposite Elizabeth's house. He loves his gardening and grows many herbs scattered throughout the woodland village. He's also a very knowledgeable man but keeps some secrets to himself until we (the descendant of Aideen), are ready to possess such knowledge. We don't know that much about this mysterious Druid, or do we?

We know Avalon is a member of the Keepers of Aideen, and we now know he has been a member since childhood. Unlike his brother, Evergrey, Avalon is a trustworthy and loyal member of the Keepers. He's always willing to help out when he's needed and is a good friend to all.

Being the younger brother of Evergrey, Avalon was kind of envied by his older sibling. He was accused of being their mother's favourite, by abiding by the laws of the Keepers and not going behind Fripp's back to gain more power.

Considering Evergrey might be in his early to late fifties, I believe Avalon is in his late forties at best. Taking in the fact he loves knowledge and sharing his findings with his fellow druids, there is only one circle that fits him best...

That's right guys, the Moon Circle! Given Avalon's vast knowledge and keenness to learn more, I suspect it was the Moon runestone that lit up for him when he was a child. This meant that he was thrown into bookkeeping and hiding secrets from the enemy. His plans are always well thought out, and the advice he gives is second to none. I also believe he is the Moon Circle Leader, given Linda always goes directly to him for anything brain related, and the fact Fripp trusts him no questions asked. So, for me, Avalon grew up around knowledge and scriptures, and even if some of his family were from different circles, or may have only been from one particular for generations, I can see why Avalon's mother may have favoured him so much. He broke tradition by becoming a member of the Moon Circle.

I have a hunch, Evergrey didn't forgive him for breaking this trend, but this will be covered in another blog. I have a feeling that his family may have all been members of the Star Circle, given the number of herbs growing around Valedale which he continues to nurture and look after.  Being a member of the Moon Circle has given him chance to uncover many properties of these herbs which could be made into useful potions and remedies used by the Star Circle.

The Mysterious UFO

Where Did It Come From?

We've all come across the mysterious UFO crash site which lies between Silverglade Vineyard, the Baroness' Racetrack and Everwind Oil Fields. It really is something that we've all pondered about. Truth be told, it's left us with more questions than answers. So, hopefully, I can answer some of those questions in this blog.

Fripp had told us that he comes from a distant planet from another galaxy and that he and his friends were transporting Garnok in their spaceship. As he tells us, Garnok's Generals broke free to release their Master. This, in turn, caused untold havoc within the ship itself, causing it to be on a collision course with Earth. When Earth's gravity ensnared the craft, it pulled them to a small island. This island was situated between South-West Norway and North-East Scotland in the North Sea. Fripp explains to us that the ship crashed into the ocean, so Silverglade Vineyard, the Oil Fields and the racetrack all must have been still underwater.

With the moving of plates and tides, the Vineyard, Everwind Oil Fields and the racetrack area emerged from the dark, cold depths of the ocean. This, in turn, caused the UFO to be revealed between mountain ranges, and could only be discovered by those who were brave enough to venture up the slopes and into the uncharted area of Jorvik. 

The UFO itself looks pretty beaten up, probably cause from both coming into Earth's atmosphere and the impact itself. You can see most of the protective layers have come off and most of the skeletal structure is showing. I believe this is from Garnok's holding cell, given how big the damage is. If we get a bit closer, we can actually see inside the ship,

These funny looking hieroglyphs look eerily similar to Pandorian or this could be some earlier form of the Pandorian language. I think it is anyway, as languages and text do advance and expand with the times, and some texts, tongues and ways of writing are lost over the centuries, and Fripp does confirm he has been watching over our planet for hundreds of years. If we look at the hieroglyphs from my snapshots and compare them to a picture of the Pandorian Keystone, we do get some familiarity if you have sharp, hawk eyes. 

In conclusion, I think this ship did come from Pandoria, as we know is a sort of parallel universe to our own. The theories of there being parallel worlds are highly debated even in the real world. SO I reckon to travel from Pandoria to Earth all those centuries ago one must have had to use a spaceship of sorts until it was discovered there were links to both worlds thanks to the magic Aideen had brought with her when she first came to Jorvik. I will touch more on this in next week's blog.

Aideen: What Happened To Her Fifth Child?

Where Did Our Ancestor Go?

So as explained in my previous entry, (which can be found here), our character the descendant of Aideen's fifth child. Each child inherited specific powers which have been passed down through the female bloodline. The gene that activates a Soul Rider's powers lies dormant until the call is made for the Sisterhood to unite against the darkness. 

Some theory history. I believe that once Aideen first defeated Garnok, she had already had her children. I believe she created them to be leaders of each of the four circles. Moon, for the wisest and tactical of druids. Sun, for those who can stand the pressures of both Pandoria and Earth. Star, for the healers and medicinal practitioners. Finally, Lightning for the true warriors, and those who aren't afraid to fight to keep the peace. The fifth child bore elements of each circle, and Aideen knew this and sent her away to safety. Away from Jorvik, and away from the battle that was to come. 

The original Soul Riders are the daughters of Aideen, and ancestors to Alex, Anne, Lisa and Linda. It makes sense why they all look similar and have lived on Jorvik for so long. Even though we don't know the names of the original four, I think they would've been Levene (flash of lightning), Lene (light of the sun), Amaris (child of the moon) and Astra (from the stars). Levene would've been the only one of her sisters that carried a physical weapon as well as baring the destructive powers of the Lightning Circle. While the other three do have offence magic, it isn't as potent as the Lightning. The other three sisters had their duties. Amaris could see the future, and predict an enemy attack. Astra could heal those gravely injured from the battlefield, and from sickness. And Lene could walk in both worlds without a problem, to fight on both plains. 

By sending the fifth sister away, I believe Amaris had a vision that in the distant future the descendant of that fifth sister would be needed as things would get far too grave for just the Four Soul Riders to handle. The fifth sister was sent to a distant country, let's say Scotland for argument's sake. There, the fifth sister lived out a normal life and had her own children. Each female child carrying the dormant, magical gene. When we were finally born, and when we reached our teens something called us to go to Jorvik. I would say the gene was waking up, due to the huge amounts of chaos Dark Core were unleashing.

SPOILERS AHEAD FROM THE MOST RECENT STORY QUEST. STOP READING TO AVOID!!!

As we know our Starter is a Starbreed and contains the magic from each of the four circles which is equal in power. Justin Moorland is a Wild Whisperer, but at the time of out character's meeting with him, even he did not know this. He paired us up with our Starter which had been owned by druids. Even though these druids say they hadn't the funds to care for our horse anymore, I believe Fripp had a good feeling that something magical was happening, and therefore our Starter was sold to us. I also think that Fripp knew we were the descendant of Aideen's fifth daughter but had to be sure and so he had Elizabeth conduct the rune stone tests to see which circle we were connected to. However, when all four stones lit up, Fripp's hopeful suspicions were confirmed.
